Use and Precautions
Methods for using essential oils:
- By massage, dilute in a Florame Vegetable Oil (2 to 5% for the body and 0.5 to 1% maximum for the face)
- For the bath, dilute 10 to 20 drops of essential oil in 60 ml of Florame Neutral Essential Bath.
- By diffusion, in the air, alone or combined with other Florame essential oils (20 min, two or three times a day or 5 to 10 min every two hours).
Precautions when using essential oils:
- Keep out of reach of children
- Not recommended for women who are pregnant or breast feeding or for children under age 7
- Do not apply pure to skin; dilute in a vegetable oil or in a dispersant for the bath.
- Do not ingest (consult a doctor), or apply on mucous membranes or eyes.
- In case of irritation or projection into eye, rinse abundantly with vegetable oil and consult a doctor
- Keep away from light and heat
Specific precautions for certain essential oils and essences:
- Some essential oils are dermocaustic and are not recommended for the skin, even when diluted: 50% and 60% cinnamon bark, clove, savory, thymol thyme, oregano.
- Do not diffuse essential oils containing phenols (eugenol, carvocrol, thymol) and ketones (camphor, verbenone).
- Citrus essences are photosensitizing. Avoid exposure to the sun in case of application to the skin.
